Eugenia KOVATCHEVA

Researcher & Artist

Prof. Eugenia Kovatcheva, PhD, is Research Policy Director and Co-Chair of the UNESCO Chair on ICT in Library Studies, Education and Cultural Heritage at the University of Library Studies and Informationf Technologies (ULSIT), Bulgaria.

With a background in mathematics, robotics and educational technologies, her work bridges disciplines and explores the interaction between people, technology and knowledge. Her research interests include user experience (UX) design, interdisciplinary applied research and innovation, information and knowledge management, ICT in education, and cybersecurity.

Eugenia is Bulgaria's representative to Technical Committee 3 (Education) of the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP) and is active in the EDUsummIT community and the Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education (SITE).

Prof. Kovatcheva coordinated the EU-funded ExcellCity project (BG-RRP-2.005-0003) and four Erasmus+ projects. She has contributed to more than 80 European and national projects focused on ICT innovation, education and smart services.

She has authored or co-authored more than 120 scientific publications and more than 10 books and textbooks. Her international academic experience includes visiting lectureships in Japan, Kazakhstan, the United Kingdom, Italy, Portugal and Greece. She is also an Adjunct Professor at Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), India..
